portal-calendar Rescheduling & Skipping Cleanings

If you need to skip a scheduled cleaning, we will do our best to find a spot within 7 days of your original appointment time. If you do not want to reschedule, you will see a flat $30 frequency adjustment charged. This allows the technician more time to catch up due to the extended time between visits. Previously, this adjustment was added to your next cleaning’s total — now it will be sent as a separate $30 invoice.

The best part of vacation is coming home to a clean house! We make sure our technicians are diligent about locking up and turning off lights, so you can feel comfortable giving us access while you’re away.

portal-suitcases Extended Vacations or Time Away

Planning on staying at a second home for the season or traveling long term? If you skip more than 3 scheduled cleanings, we’ll apply a flat $80 frequency adjustment charged to your first cleaning back. This allows extra time for dust, cobwebs, and those sneaky bugs that settle in and mark up floors and corners. You are not charged for the skipped appointments.

Want us to take care of a few extras? Please give us at least 3 days’ notice so we can be sure your technician has the right supplies and time in their schedule. Always feel free to ask, we’ll do our best! Just know that our schedules fill up quickly, so last-minute additions aren’t always possible.

portal-lock Lockout Fees

If we arrive and can’t get into your home within 20 minutes, the full price of your scheduled cleaning will still apply. This covers the time our technicians spend waiting and the lost opportunity to use that time for cleaning elsewhere. Update us when you change your garage code, and remember to swap out garage door keypad batteries for fresh ones, especially before cold weather.

Cancelling services indefinitely with less than 48 hours’ notice or one time jobs: This will result in the full price being charged.

Please keep walkways, steps, and driveways clear of snow and ice. If our team cannot safely enter, the cleaning will be cancelled and a lockout fee may apply. If you're unable to remove snow or ice from walkways, please open your garage and have us enter that way. Pro tip: Replace door lock batteries before winter—lockouts are often caused by dead batteries!

Please keep your A/C set below 70 degrees on cleaning days to keep our technicians safe & comfortable. It helps avoid streaky mirrors and floors, keeps vacuums from smelling due to humidity, and ensures a more efficient clean — which keeps your costs down! If your home is over 90 degrees, our technician reserves the right to leave for their safety, and you will be charged full price for the cleaning.

Please let us know! It gives us more flexibility if we’re overbooked. Most importantly, if you have a house sitter staying, please tell us so your technician isn’t surprised when expecting an empty home.

While we do our best to send the same technician or team to your home, we can’t guarantee it every time. Illness, vacations, and schedule changes may require us to assign a different cleaner. Rest assured — every Happy House employee is trained in the same systems to provide consistent, high-quality service at every visit. If you have a strong preference for a specific technician — or if it doesn’t matter who shows up — please let us know!

We clean homes Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM. If your cleaning isn’t the first stop of the day, your technician may arrive up to 2 hours before or after your scheduled time. Need a tighter window? Just let us know, we can set up an automated notification to alert you when your technician is on the way. Pro tip: You can always view the approximate arrival time in your customer portal!
